Mild mannered Maddy Martin is a brilliant electrical engineer who is desperate to prove herself when a freak accident grants her the incredible powers of…static electricity! Before long she dons a mask to become, The Spark, and must race against time to stop the return of the evil Dr. Crime before he destroys the city. THE SPARK: A HERO TAKES CHARGE is an hilarious, unexpected, and action-packed thrill ride through a world of superheroes, villains, and the ridiculous characters that surround them.

The Spark: A Hero Takes Charge received its premiere by Accidental Humour Co. on August 18, 2017. It had an initial run at the Garneau Theatre (as part of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival) in Edmonton, Alberta. It subsequently toured to six Alberta communities (Stettler, Airdrie, Athabasca, Sylvan Lake, Medicine Hat, and Lethbridge) between September 22 and October 14, 2017.
