Deep in the middle of the forest, something dark is lurking. The trees are dying, an ecosystem is in trouble, and a little boy named Ash is lost. To his great fortune, Ash meets Jack Pinecone who teaches Ash about the diversity of the forest and helps him more easily navigate his way out. While his appreciation of the forest grows with each step, he fears that the darkness he looked to escape is also growing.
The Invasion of the Pine Beetles was commissioned by Evergreen Theatre and premiered in the Spring of 2014. The show toured to Albertan schools with the following cast and crew:
